What a wet season. At the Viper practice last Friday ( 12/6/19 ) the ball was creating a water "rooster tail" as it rolled hard to the outfield. I know that the Copperheads' make up rain-out games were rained out. Harry was having hamburger withdrawals.

BOARD FEE Decision for 2020

Annual Fees for 2020

        The Executive Board has decided to keep the annual Fees for participating in the Palm Creek ball Association at the same rate of $50.00. The fee which will be collected in January from all active players covers participation for the entire 2020 calendar year. Participating players receive a Palm Creek Softball Association ball cap at no additional cost.

For example: #1 - Rollie hitting a homer in batting practice, #2 - Irwin chewing his team out for not getting him his beer, #4 - Bob storing nuts in his...wait for it...cheek, not that one Harry ! and numbers 24-27 - Leona or Lorna robbing someone of a home run.

FRED has posted at the SHEEDY Tower pictures of items found near the ball field. Yea, I didn't know either that the scorekeeper/announcer's booth had an official name. HURRY and claim your belongings before he gives them to his relatives as Christmas presents !!! 

How about a shout out for the scorekeepers and announcers. Great job ladies and gentlemen.

TOURNAMENT RESULT TODAY 11-16-2019

The Vipers won their games defeating both Sun Lakes and Robson. Lots of great catches along with hitting and pitching.
And speaking of pitching, guess the name of the Viper's pitcher from this picture of him on first base. He's going to get sunburned if he doesn't wear a cap. One would think he could get one.

That's right Scott Houle, our park Manger, and Meatloaf dinner server! And that's Don Burell standing around waiting for his hamburger order from the sports grill.

Come see our Palm Creek Vipers play in a round robin tournament against the teams from Sun Lakes and Robson Ranch.

Starting time at 9am with breakfast items available at the Sports Grill. It's really not that cold at that time, especially if you are playing !!  Bleachers come with carpet pads to sit on !!

GROUNDS CREW

    IRWIN is installing 2x4s to keep the stones off the field. ( What is the singular of crew?)  New bases with grass about 2 inches high.
Infield practice is happening now. Leave early and join in. I'm guessing you need it !!! Not Judging !!

THE ANXIETY IS BUILDING. PRACTICE THIS A.M. Irwin's arm in great shape, Until Tomorrow! You can't see Jerry Wellman throwing because he is in cognito, he took wrong turn for deer hunting. You all need to leave the northland before the snow flies. 

Only 9 days post seeding and it looks close to mowing. Only 30ish more days and time to play. Are you ready? Yea, me neither !!

BALL PLAYERS ALREADY ON THE OUTFIELD !

HAD A NICE RAIN LAST NIGHT. SHOULD SEE GREEN IN A COUPLE OF HOURS!  NEED SCOTT O TO GUARD FIELD WITH SHOTGUN. "PLAYERS" JUST "FLEW" AWAY, BUT SOON CAME BACK FOR "BREAKFAST".

A LITTLE HARD TO SEE BUT LOOKS LIKE "LIP" BETWEEN INFIELD AND OUTFIELD IS GONE. NOW DELLA CAN TURN DOUBLE PLAYS FASTER. THAT WAS THE WHOLE REASON FOR REDOING THE FIELD !

Jerry, John, and I were going to take them on but felt we should not interrupt them. 

PC SOFTBALL FIELD UPDATE

Left and center-left field looks smoothed out. Hasn't been seeded yet. Not much progress over last week. Rained a couple of times. The golf course ( all 18 holes ) shut down for 30 days. A lot of power raking and final tree trimming. Palm Park has been reseeded and they are pouring the water to it. John O, Jerry W, Dale S, and Bruce M throwing the ball each week. It took Dale a week to get over using the "heavy" ball just once !! It was his pitching arm which hasn't been doing well anyways ! I hope Butch brings his twin brother next season !!

Bright and early today the GPS was set up and the way he went

 He scored a run but from the wrong direction

 You can't see the green light on the pole sticking out of the leveler. But that indicates where Harry made some illegal pitches last season.

                  Crew ( one guy ) had to suspend in the morning - too much dust for the pickleball players

                     The new ( as opposed to used ) dirt/gravel has been here for about a week.

             Watering started about a week ago also.  Today starts the loosening of the old concrete ( I mean gravel ) in preparation to mix in the new
